Guess what?

Adam has FINALLY been accepted into graduate school! We found out on Monday. It is such great news. Starting on August 27th he will be studying to be a doctor of physical therapy. We've got a new apartment lined up and we are scurrying to get everything else together in this whirlwind life of ours.

In other news, look at this:

This is the $12 mirror we bought at the D.I. and refinished. Adam is a talented spray painter.

Last weekend we went on a drive to a hunting spot Adam wants to use for bow hunting this year. Good thing my parents let us borrow their truck, it was a pretty bumpy ride. Too bad that there was no air conditioning in the truck, it was a super hot day.

Family Weekend

Nora (and Savanna and Joe of course) came to visit this weekend. She was mugged by family all weekend! She is such a cutie, but I am sure Locklynn will give her a run for her money when he pops in soon!

My dad dibsed Nora first and he had fun cuddling with her. He took her out to his garden and she came back with this:

This weekend also brought the annual family reunion for my dear Grandma's family. It was held all weekend at a campground by a near by reservoir.

Adam and Joe went to the reservoir for a crawdad expedition. Well they came back with a crawdad, but they were both soaking wet from a big rainstorm that had opened up.

Making Lemonade

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade... or lemonade cake! This is exactly what my marvelous mom and I did when we were in a baking mood last week. It was a hit and the frosting was to die for!

Thank you Better Homes and Gardens (I am so glad I bought that clearance Christmas quilt that came with a free year subscription).

We had a lot of fun baking together and we only had to start over once, but it was worth it! We already have our next cake making adventure in mind. Yum!

P.S. Our latest loves... The newest season of White Collar and summery citrus desserts like the lemonade cake last week or the lime melt away cookies I made yesterday.

4th of July

Following tradition, we spent the 4th of July with Adam's family (minus his mom and Alesha who are on vacay right now). Because 2 of Adam's family members have M.S. we got a great parking spot for the family camper at the river and spent the afternoon chillin' in the air conditioning.

P.S. One of my favorite parts of the day was spending the morning with my mom and hitting some pretty good clearance sales! Adam went to the parade with his nieces and loved getting a free tie from the Missionary Mall.
