Once upon a time it was Valentines Day... but my Valentine was taking 20 credits in graduate school and I was working. Sad day :( Not to worry though, we celebrated on Saturday by:
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING on Scout Mountain (or it might have been called back country skiing, but whatever it was, it was fun)!!!
We must have been a little confused though, because we found out we had our skis on the wrong feet! Haha! I think we got the boots right, but that was tricky too. We weren't the only ones that were confused. This tree had the wrong holiday!
Going down hill was really fun, partly because Adam is a snow board man and he didn't know how to stop or slow down on his skis!
Once we got home from our outdoor adventure, I took a bubble bath and Adam read to me. We are reading The Beyonders together. Adam's voice got tired and my water got cold too soon.
After we both got dolled up for the night, we headed out for dinner. This whole month we had looked forward to trying Middle Eastern food at a local restaurant, but when we arrived we found out the whole restaurant was reserved for the night. :( We crossed the street to McKee's pet store to look at puppies while we decided where to go next. We ended up at Sumisu where I ate red pepper chicken and Adam ate the Eugene roll sushi. Both were very good. Don't worry, it wasn't raw sushi (Adam likes that, but I am too afraid to try).

Football...As I Know It
Alright y'all. I grew up in a house full of Barbie playing girly girls. Except for my dad, who of course he is a man, but not a sporty man. Basically, we never watched sports on TV ever, unless it was the Olympics or figure skating. Hence, I know nothing about football. In fact, I can count the number of high school football games I attended on, um, 2 fingers!
Adam, on the other hand, is a manly, sporty man and comes from a sporty family. This means that he knows all things sports. Unfortunately, not much of his sports knowledge has rubbed off on me in the past 4+ years. The Super Bowl is a little bit of a painful annual experience for me. See?
This is football... as I know it.
Big burly men run into each other over and over while they have small towels dangling from their tights like loin cloths. There was also something about breaking the law with illegal formations and contact.
Umm... ya, that is about all I have. I've got nothin'!
I don't know how I have gotten so far in life knowing nothing!!!
Oh well. At least Adam was happy that I was watching the Bowl with him. At least until the 49ers lost.
At least I can cook and feed my husband. It may not be a footBALL, but it is a meatBALL!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year all you blog followers!
Adam and I had a great New Years Eve. We moved our bed into the living room for a sleep over. We ate take out Indian food and homemade ice cream (from Adam's Christmas present). Yum! Yum! And more Yum!
Then we laid in our bed and watched Sherlock Holmes while we waited for the ball to drop. We kissed each other at midnight and fell fast asleep.

Just for the Heck of It!
These pictures didn't really fit into my last post, but let's face it, if I didn't put them up, I would be really depriving you!
The End of the World
TOP 12 JOHNSON HAPPENING SINCE THE WORLD DIDN'T END:
(In no particular order)
12. Skyping with Nora, Savanna, and Joe on Christmas and watching Nora open her very first Christmas presents. She seemed a little confused, but she really liked the wrapping paper.
11. Playing glow in the dark dodge ball with Adam's family.
10. Seeing our very own Elf on the Shelf- Samuel
9. Discussing the Christmas story with Riley, who is almost 4. It was so sweet to hear her talk about baby Jesus. Did you know that Mary was inside a camel's tummy? And did you know that when Jesus was born the angels sang the ABC's?
8. Watching the children in Adam's family reenact the nativity. It was priceless when Hailey, the wise man, tried to steal baby Jesus from Riley, Mary.
The Angels
Mary and Baby Jesus
Joseph
Shepherd Sam
7. Visiting the Christmas displays at the Museum of Idaho.
6. Seeing the live nativity at the Calvary Chapel.
5. Enjoying the musical Christmas lights in my parent's neighborhood
4. Watching Wreck It Ralph with my family. Locklynn was so good during the whole movie.
3. Visiting with our friends who were home for the holidays from Arkansas.
2. Playing Curses with family.
It was a lot of fun. At one point my mom had to act like a hairy gorilla every time she talked. My dad had several curses where he couldn't bend his elbows, he had to act like he didn't have fingers, and he had to use sign language when he talked!
1. Adam passed his first semester of graduate school... and with good grades too!

Big News
Big News! Adam and I are proud owners of a new (to us) car!
Buying a car is a big decision, but it needed to be done. We put on our big girl panties and went for it!
