Fun June Weekends

June is almost over, but we've had a couple of fun weekends. Well, last weekend Adam didn't have very much fun because he was studying and taking a hard test, but I had fun watching the air show from my front steps. It was great to watch the colorful old planes and the trick planes. They were soooo close though, that sometimes I was afraid they would crash into our house! One actually did crash the night before in the golf course down the block while doing practice tricks! Thank goodness the pilot walked away ok, but the plane was destroyed.

Yesterday we were able to be in attendance for my Grandpa's 78th birthday party! I love that man! Here's to many more years Grandpa!

Today, after we finished making a bunch of freezer meals for this next busy week, Adam and I went to the zoo because we had free tickets from work. We hadn't been to the zoo since high school so it was neat to go back to see all the old things and all the new things like the tiger. Um, a real, live one, not the one Adam is sitting one!

It was fun at the zoo. Adam kept talking about how he'd love to have a zoo some day and what kind of animals he would have there. He has soooo many dreams.

It was also Derek's birthday today (Adam's brother) and we got to go out to eat with them. Derek chose to eat at the Blue Hashi. I was a little scared at first because it is a sushi restaurant and I am not too thrilled about raw fish and have never had sushi (Adam enjoys both). I decided to bite the bullet and try some sushi! I tried the panda sushi roll (with cooked fish) and despite the seaweed it was pretty good. I even tried Adam's (cooked) azul sushi roll and some calamari that they had for an appetizer. Thanks for the adventure and happy 30th birthday Derek!

P.S. Everyone check out this movie preview. The Odd Life of Timothy Green looks like the perfect movie for us to see, even if I cry the whole time. I am super excited to see it. Luckily Adam and I have not had THAT meeting with a doctor yet, but it just feels like it hits home. Maybe we can sit down and write down what our kid will be like and bury it in our garden... or tomato pot...

Shout Outs!

Look right here! My friend Nature Girl did a nice little shout out to us on her blog idnaturegirl.blogspot.com. I've known Nature Girl all growing up, in fact she was one of my young women's leader and definitely a woman to look up to. We're extremely beholden to her for giving us a shout out on her blog. Check it out as well as the rest of her witty, funny, down to earth blog.
We've also had some friends that were kind enough to share our info on Pinterest and on Facebook. If anyone else would like to share info feel free, and if you shout out to us on your blog let us know and we'll shout right back! Thanks friends, we feel so loved a supported. We know with all of your help something good will happen.

Nora's Baby Blessing

This weekend we also traveled to visit my sister, Savanna, for Nora's baby blessing. Every time I see Nora she has grown so much and looks so different. She even looks so different in every picture! It was great to be able to cuddle so much with a sweet baby... even when she vomited all over me, yuck! I wish they lived closer so that I could cuddle that cutie more often.

It's okay though because Abby's Locklynn will be here in September. I am already planning his baby shower and have great ideas from Pinterest.

Here's pretty little Nora on her special day. She is loved by a lot of people.

Alesha's Celebration

This was another busy weekend full of traveling. First off we went and celebrated Alesha's (Adam's sister) birthday/farewell to your summer travels celebration. She is going to be in Virginia and then Europe for the whole summer. I am so jealous! But for now, our memories of New Zealand will have to be enough to satisfy my travel bug.

Beforehand Adam and I went to my Grandma's house so she could teach us how to make her famous potato salad for the party. It is seriously like a big honor to know how to make her potato salad and just as expected it was a huge hit at Alesha's party. She basically made everyone try it. I so love it when everyone loves my food!

Family Photos

Adam and I have a tradition of getting new family pictures taken each spring. This year our good friend Laura Holland from lauraholland.blogspot.com took our pictures. We got our pictures back last night and are so happy with the results! Now we just have to decide which one to put up on our wall! Here are some of my favorites. Which one do you think should go up on our wall?

I love how she captured Adam's goofiness and of course his handsomeness!

Thanks again Laura! If you live in the Rexburg area, I think Laura is the photographer for you!

Annual Family Weenie Roast

We've been having busy, family filled weekends. Last weekend was Adam's extended family's annual weenie roast so we hopped on the band wagon and headed to Utah. The night before the big event, we stayed at Adam's sister, Tiffany's, house. All the family got together at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Adam's graduation (which was in December...) and his brother, Josh's, graduation. Adam and I are sort of becoming foodies and we loved our delicious food and lemon cake that we ate! We could probably eat at the Cheesecake Factory everyday for a month for all 3 meals and never try the same thing because the menu is so huge!
Then, the next day we gorged ourselves on yummy hotdogs and homemade picnicy salads. I picked up a new yummy salad recipe and y'all know how much I love new recipes and food! All of the kids were enjoying the rope swing so I decided to give it a go. Boy are those kids brave!

The best thing about the weekend was being able to see family, especially Adam's grandpa who is in his 90's. He is a great man! He reminds me quite a bit of my own farmer grandpa who I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Oh, P.S. This last Tuesday was the Venus eclipse. Adam was so excited to see it, like a little kid. He built a cardboard viewing box to see the eclipse without burning out his eyes. It was really funny, but then really sad because it ended up being cloudy so it didn't even work!
